About Hilldale Park
The home of the Hilldale Daisies (also known as the Hilldale Club) from 1914 through 1932 — a Philadelphia-area franchise that played in the first two Negro World Series, winning in 1925. The Daisies featured one of the most accomplished defensive infielders in Negro League history in third baseman Judy Johnson and the great catcher Biz Mackey. The stadium was demolished after the team folded in 1932; the site is now occupied by a Darby Township public school with a Pennsylvania historical marker.
