1. Introduction
Welcome to Ballpark Bucket List ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the Ballpark Bucket List mobile application (the "App").
By using the App you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you create an account using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, we receive limited profile information from the authentication provider, which may include your name, email address, and profile photo. We also store the display name or username you choose within the App.
2.2 User-Generated Content
We collect content you voluntarily provide, including:
- Records of stadiums you have visited and wish-list selections
- Memories, notes, and stories you write about your ballpark visits
- Photos you upload in connection with your visits
2.3 Location Data
With your permission, the App accesses your device's location to display nearby stadiums on the map. Location data is used on-device and is not stored on our servers or shared with third parties. You may revoke location permission at any time through your device settings.
2.4 Push Notification Tokens
If you opt in to push notifications, we collect your device's push notification token so we can send you relevant updates such as visit reminders or social activity. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.
2.5 AI-Assisted Content
When you use AI-powered features — such as memory writing assistance, road trip planning, or baseball history lookups — the prompts and context you provide are sent to the Anthropic Claude API via our secure server-side Cloud Functions. These interactions are processed in real time and are not stored by Anthropic for model training. Please refer to Anthropic's Privacy Policy for further details on their data handling.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Store and display your visited stadiums, memories, and photos
- Show stadiums near your current location on the map
- Provide AI-assisted features such as memory writing and trip planning
- Send push notifications you have opted in to receive
- Enable social features such as sharing achievements and challenges
- Improve and maintain the App
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party services. Each service processes data as described in its own privacy policy:
- Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) — account creation and sign-in via Google and Apple. Firebase Privacy
- Firebase Cloud Firestore (Google LLC) — cloud database for storing your stadium visits, memories, and profile data.
- Firebase Cloud Storage (Google LLC) — secure storage of photos you upload.
- Firebase Cloud Functions (Google LLC) — server-side processing for AI features and other backend logic.
- Expo Push Notifications (Expo) — delivery of push notifications to your device. Expo Privacy
- Anthropic Claude API (Anthropic) — AI language model used for memory writing, trip planning, and baseball history features. Anthropic Privacy
- Google Cloud Vision API (Google LLC) — analyzes photos you upload to (a) detect face locations (bounding boxes) so the app can suggest where to tag people and (b) recognize well-known landmarks (specifically MLB stadiums) so the app can suggest the right ballpark. We do not perform facial recognition or store facial biometric data — only coordinates of where faces appear and the name of any matched landmark. You can disable photo analysis in Settings → Photo Analysis. Vision Data Usage
We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Google Firebase infrastructure, which employs industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is protected by Firebase Security Rules that ensure users can only read and write their own records.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data — including visited-stadium records, memories, and photos — at any time by contacting us at the email address below.
Upon receiving a verified deletion request, we will permanently remove your data from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
- Request a portable copy of your data
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in Section 10.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
