About ZOZO Marine Stadium
Opened in 1990 on reclaimed land along Tokyo Bay, ZOZO Marine is famous for two things: brutal sea winds that can transform routine fly balls into adventures, and the Chiba Lotte Marines' supporters in the right-field bleachers — widely considered the most coordinated and passionate fan section in Japanese baseball. The team plays in distinctive black-and-silver uniforms.
Fun facts
- The supporters' section has been called "the loudest in baseball" by visiting MLB players.
- Sea winds frequently knock down or carry fly balls; pitchers love it, hitters hate it.
- ZOZO is the Japanese fashion e-commerce company that bought naming rights in 2017.
