About Sutter Health Park
Sutter Health Park, originally known as Raley Field, opened in 2000 as the home of the Sacramento River Cats, the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. The intimate ballpark sits along the Sacramento River in West Sacramento and was widely regarded as one of the finest minor league facilities in America.
In 2024, the Oakland Athletics announced they would relocate to Sacramento as a temporary home for the 2025-2027 seasons while their permanent stadium in Las Vegas is constructed. The ballpark underwent renovations to meet MLB standards, including expanded clubhouses, upgraded media facilities, and enhanced seating areas, though its capacity remains significantly smaller than typical MLB venues.
The Athletics' tenure in Sacramento represents a unique chapter in baseball history — a major league team calling a minor league park home — and has been embraced by the Sacramento community, which last hosted professional baseball at the highest level when the Sacramento Solons played in the Pacific Coast League.
