About Comiskey Park
Comiskey hosted what was arguably the Negro Leagues' single most important annual event: the East-West All-Star Game, played here from 1933 through 1962 (with brief detours to other parks). The game often drew 40,000+ fans — outdrawing MLB's All-Star Game in some years — and was the marquee showcase for Satchel Paige, Josh Gibson, Cool Papa Bell, Buck Leonard, and every other star of the era. The Chicago American Giants also played occasional home games at Comiskey when crowds outgrew their primary home at Schorling's Park.

- Satchel Paige made multiple East-West Game appearances and was the East team's most-fan-voted player across the 1930s.
- The first East-West Game was held two months after MLB's first All-Star Game — also at Comiskey, on July 6, 1933.
